Call for exhibition volunteers
Spilt Milk Gallery CIC is a social enterprise based within St Margaret’s House, Edinburgh. Our mission is to promote the work of artists who identify as mothers, and empower mothers in the local community through accessible, artist-led activities.
We are looking for volunteers to help invigilate our upcoming exhibition; Cartography of Care. The exhibition will be held in Galleries 1 & 2 at St Margaret’s House and volunteers will be required between October 10th-31st.
Exhibition volunteers will play an integral role in the delivery of the show and will gain valuable hands-on experience in a contemporary gallery setting. We are looking for reliable and committed individuals who are keen to update their experience and learn new skills within an arts organisation. We particularly encourage applications from those who may for a number of reasons have gaps in their C.V.
No experience is necessary, we are just looking for people who support our values, can work independently as well as part of a team and have a friendly and approachable manner.
Working hours would be between 11am and 5pm (or 11-2 / 2-5) and volunteers are welcome to commit to just a few hours or a number of days throughout the entire exhibition. Free tea, coffee, snacks and wifi are available and we can reimburse reasonable travel expenses from within Edinburgh and the Lothians. The building is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
