Megan Hogg

Megan Hogg’s practice encompasses a wide range of disciplines, with projects ranging from drawing and printmaking to sculptural objects, collage and journaling. A recurring theme in her work is personal narrative and human perception. Studying her masters in Art Psychotherapy has greatly influenced her work; she attempts to explore the self, perception and states of mind in her images. Each sequential piece is made in response to resonating psychotherapeutic themes, bringing internal images into external forms. Her most recent work has explored the transition from pregnancy to becoming a mother, through creative journaling. Her drawings and automatic writing explores and capture the new and growing relationship with her baby. She aims to be authentic in her entries, exposing the many wonderful moments of motherhood, as well as the many challenges.
