Cartography of Care
Cartography of Care is an exhibition curated in response to the idea of an emotional atlas. It brings together the work of an international group of artist mothers working across a variety of disciplines to explore how we might map the human experience of caregiving.

Today the mother is tied up in myth and mystery. If we are to understand who we are then we must look at our mothers’, and at our mothers’ mother’s.
If Not Now, When?
If not now, when? Is a two-part virtual exhibition curated by Spilt Milk Gallery CIC, presenting the work of over 40 international women and non-binary artists who have been mothering during the pandemic. Launching on International Women’s Day (March 8th), part one of the exhibition explores the impact of the pandemic on mothers’ emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing, while part two is a call-to-action toward a post-pandemic world free of oppression.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic, our 2020 annual members’ show will be taking place virtually in the form of an online exhibition supported by a series of online artist talks. We are excited to also be publishing a limited-edition Home-works zine featuring the work of 33 Spilt Milk members.
Re:birth Spilt Milk Member Show 2019
This year’s member show theme; (‘rebirth’ or ‘regarding birth’) has resulted in a diverse collection of artwork exploring in a range of mediums; representations of birth and the maternal body, contemporary narratives of the mother and child relationship, abstract reflections on the domestic realm as well as work exploring adoption, loss, and the cycle of life.
