Marie Østerskov

In her artistic practice, Marie Holm Oesterskov works relationally with natural materials, the animal world and the human body, which in performative photographs melt together and form complex bio-bodies between species.

The connection between humans, animals and the plant world is also the focal point in her performances and rituals that activate works of found natural materials, plant-dyed textiles, and cyanotype.

Marie’s work open spaces for connection, entangled relations and complexity. The depth of the works hold the potential for new constellations across species, systems, and boundaries.

To recreate belonging and presence with nature, is the essence of Marie’s work and a driving force for her as an artist and human being. Her practice revolves around the intersection of visual art, performance and spirituality.
