How would it feel to think about the birth and future of a human child in the vastness of ‘tree time’?
Next of Kin is a participatory art experience created to be used at celebrations to welcome a human child into the world, and in mothering meditations.
This secular experience draws on legends of old, uses time and nature to bring a sense of awe and wonder and encourages deeper connection with each other and other living species. The canvas is part of an art ritual 'system', which includes other ceremonial artefacts including scripts, bowls, and props.
