Unconditional

Oil, Acrylic, Flashe Emulsion Paint, Charcoal, Pastel & Collage on Canvas.

30 x 36 inches

In "Unconditional," I seek to capture the complex and ever-shifting emotional landscape that comes with the profound experience of motherhood. This mixed media painting is a visceral exploration of the conflicting emotions that intertwine themselves. It is a visual representation of the love, devotion, and the simultaneous yearning for personal escape that characterize the essence of motherhood.

Just as motherhood is a fusion of diverse emotions and experiences, this artwork combines a variety of materials and techniques. The deep and complex layers of mixed media techniques reveal the depth of this connection, with textures and colors merging and blending much like the push and pull of mothering. The use of collage, oil, acrylics, and various textural elements allows me to convey the depth and richness of the mother-child relationship, as well as the tumultuous and sometimes conflicting feelings that arise from it.
