Artists have a privilege to feel what is happening around our lives more intensely. In parallel to a busy and social life as a primary carer of my children, I spend my working hours mostly alone in my home studio.
Dispersed between focused time drawing, gluing, measuring, or cutting are short or long pauses when I am
reading news, looking at posts on social media, and listening to podcasts.
Because I have the luxury of having flexible work schedule, I sometimes end up giving much of my attention to the the materials that are being poured out into the day
On this day of October 18, I read about an explosion in a hospital in Gaza.
Confusion became anger then to hopeless then I got really really sad.
I was working on mounting finished ink drawings onto a backing paper to make them flat and smooth.
But the four birds on this day decided to mount themselves onto a crinkled packing paper.
I first thought I ruined them. But I remembered a friend who enjoys seeing waves on paper and decided to leave them.
